The Court of Gods

The Pantheon of Belief-born

Gold amongst the black are the Gods of Dracōnem, sometimes called 'gold-born.' They are credited with creating humanity in their own image while having also created the other species’ of Dracōnem in various, less meaningful ways. Their dominion is absolute, never more powerful than during the days of the Concordant Holy Empire. However, come the common era, their grip slowly begins to fade as it is whispered a second of their ranks, a second unkillable paragon, has been laid low.

They have bright, borderless golden runes across their bodies, and the mark of their presence, of divinity, lie in their eyes - reflective planes of gold, irisless and known to emit light when they harness The Anthem. Their runes are especially present on the face, arms and backs of Gods. The Tongue of the Gods, Rhongomynah Sprache, resembles real-world Greek.

They tend to stand far taller than humans - 5-12 feet in size, wearing shades of gold against dark colours like black, navy or grey. They have peerless strength and the ability to cast arcana barred from mortals. Their blood is gold, though tarnishing to black the longer it is exposed to air.

The cost of immortality is a limited capability for long-term memory. Large and pertinent memories and events are retained usually, though the further back they go, they tend to be forgotten if the effects of said memory are no longer felt. They rely on humans and their record-keeping to remind them who they are. Due to this, they shift with humanity's perception of them, eventually entirely divorced from who they once were if so humans designate.
